Lisa and Adam set out to shock and awe; they wanted to do two first dances! Most couples mix their songs, so they don't go beyond an average of 3 minutes. Not these two with two full songs of choreography.

They felt like part of the NY Wedding Dance family. It was great to see them in studio once, sometimes twice a week for a couple of months. And it paid off!

Adi and Zach wanted to add something entertaining for their first dance song- a little New York style to take to their wedding in Israel, hoping to make their guests giggle with delight. They were just a few lessons into their 6 lesson package and you can already see they were comfortable enough to show their fun personalities. It's all about having a good time with each other. Well done Adi and Zach!

At New York Wedding Dance we've had the pleasure of successfully teaching and watching fun, entertaining and heart warming dances starring our lovely brides and grooms.

Some occasions bring together the bridal party or parents of the Bride and Groom. No matter the song or dance, it is the joy that is felt about the occasion and the smile that express it which truly makes any dance.

Jill and Kevin's wedding is a perfect example...from a church in St. Paul Minnesota to YouTube then shared via the "Today" show, the fun is felt nationwide. Who says you have to wait until your reception to shake things up?!

We all miss you Michael!

Maybe you've heard enough of it, maybe you havn't-but either way the Michael Jackson frenzy is not just in the tabloids, on your radio, and in every souvenir shop in New York City, its at NYWD too!

Many couples have chosen to add one of Jackson's songs to their mix like one couple who are also dancing to "Jai Ho" from Slumdog Millionaire. Another couple changed their song to "The Way You Make Me Feel" after a couple of weeks of learning a choreographed dance to a different song!

Even though we are all feeling reminiscent for the King of Pop our top song choice right now with couples still reigns with "Lucky" by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat. With lyrics like "Lucky to be in love with my best friend...Lucky we're in love in every way," sung by those jazzy voices what's not to love?

So what have we learned today? I guess there's a "PYT" in all of us just waiting to get their grooove on.

Build A Wedding NYC

New York Wedding Dance participated in an intimate roof top event hosted by Two Tea Cups, day-of wedding planners. Couples were invited to meet florists, D.J.'s, photographers, make up and hair artists, calligraphy writers, caterers, and of course us!

All guests were treated to hair and make up prior to having their picture taken by Tao professional photographers, who also graciously offered their rooftop terrace for the evening. After getting all glammed up and photographed, the roof top awaited couples with cake tastings, champagne among many give aways.

New York Wedding Dance had on-the-spot consultations, gifts bags that included a gift certificate towards any lesson. Everyone was enjoying the view of our neighbor, the Empire State Building and taking in a beautiful summer night. I even had a mini makeover!

Here are some tips I learned at Build A Wedding to cut corners on some costs:

Who needs designer center pieces?

At Build a wedding the centerpieces were glass candle holders filled with water, a floating candle, and a gold twisted rod which can be found at your local craft store. Minimal materials for a clean and chic look. You can also substitute the glass for sturdy plastic to save more money. Another center piece option is filling any shaped glass/plastic container with clear marbles and a candle. These pieces are totally affordable, but look beautiful. To make the most of your time invite over your bridal party, pop open some champagne and get to decoration pre-production!

Another interesting trick I learned was for the flowers hanging on the curtain over the cake (See Video). They were held up with double-sided masking tape! No florist needed!
